1 Study of plasma rotation response to resonant magnetic perturbations in J-TEXT tokamak

摘要:

Plasma toroidal rotations response to an external RMPs have been investigated. Initial toroidal plasma rotation is in the counter-current direction in the core region. The applied static RMPs can lead to field penetration and mode locking. During field penetration, both core and edge rotations changed toward the co-current direction, the edge rotation even reversed in the co-current direction. The plasma rotation frequency has a relationship with MHD frequency. The values of rotations increased with the increment of MHD frequencies. It is found that, the discrepancy between MHD frequency and core rotation frequency may be due to the electron diamagnetic drift frequency with few MHD, and MHD frequency is almost equal to core rotation frequency with large MHD. By applied rotating RMPs, the plasma rotation can be decelerated when the applied RMPs frequency is lower than the MHD frequency. While the applied RMPs frequency is larger than the MHD frequency, plasma rotation will be accelerated and improve the plasma confinement.

2 Density asymmetry and density limit disruptions on the J-TEXT tokamak

摘要:

High density disruption experiments for Ohmically heated discharges have been performed on the J-TEXT tokamak to investigate mechanism behind the density limit. A strong poloidal asymmetry of edge density has been found as density approaching to limit. Density at the high field side (HFS) edge could be more than two times to density at the low field side (LFS) edge. At the same time, radiation measurements indicated that the line radiation from carbon impurities also peaked at the HFS edge. This phenomenon was concluded as MARFE (multifaceted asymmetric radiation from the edge). The characteristics of MARFE was concluded. And the relationships of MARFE with plasma parameters has been studied on J-TEXT.
